The first Souchi sweater was created in San Francisco in 1997. Over ten years later, founder and designer Suzi Johnson is still at the loom. Each year Suzi personally designs and hand-crafts four collections centered around her stunning cashmere pieces that are known for their beauty, elegance, and luxury. Suzi personally hand picks her yarns at the finest mills in Europe. The cashmere is selected based on perfect quality and breathtaking color and ranges in weight from whisper thin 1-ply to chunky 12-ply. She also knits pieces made from organic cotton, cotton stretch, and cotton/cashmere blends. Modern feminine shapes meet charming details, and irresistibly cozy materials meet painterly color. From the beginning, the softest and highest quality yarns have been hand loomed by the designer herself. Currently based in Portland, Oregon, the designer operates the Souchi Studio where she continues to produce hand loomed and hand finished knits.
